Wireless sensor network (WSN) has become a new researching hotspot focused by many countries, which is the cross of many disciplines. It has the abilities of information collection, transmission and processing as it includes various technologies, such as sensor technology, wireless communication technology and computation technology. The appearance of the ZigBee protocols which have the characteristics of low cost, low power consumption and simple applications offer a good opportunity to wireless sensor network. At the same time, it offers the chance to the applications based on micro-control technology and the development of related industries. Nowadays, the real-time localization in the ZigBee network becomes a hot topic in the world.This thesis has analyzed the fundamental knowledge and current situation of wireless sensor network and ZigBee technology, and summed up the categories of coverage model after studying the coverage problems of wireless sensor network.
